The Future Cloud is Buried is part of the Big Data series.

“The Future Cloud is Buried” is a design fiction project exploring and challenging our notions of what “the cloud” really is and how this understanding shapes our choices of what we save and where to do save it. In 2021 Split decides to bury all it’s local, most valuable data in an off-grid cloud just outside the city. However, while providing a meaningful physical interface for future Splitonians, the buried cloud also gives birth to a new pirate-tourism industry as well as a new drug scene.
