Niels Wouters

Niels Wouters (1984) works in the realm of new digital media and interaction design, as a PhD student in the research group Research [x] Design (Department of Architecture, Urbanism and Planning at University of Leuven, Belgium) on the topic of sociability in media architecture. In this research the urban and social qualities of contemporary display media are investigated, aiming at developing mechanisms for integration of media architecture, in terms of context, content and architecture. Niels has experience in digital fabrication, augmented reality, creative coding and hardware prototyping, parametric and algorithmic architectural design, and a broad range of web and mobile technologies. He holds a masters degree in Architecture (2011, Summa cum laude) and a bachelors degree in Computer Sciences (2005, Cum laude).
