UrbanIxD Summer School

Jona Dajçi

I am an architecture student and I am planning to graduate this October. This last year I have been working in an architecture studio, where I have had the possibility to closely work on important projects.

As a student I have wanted to participate in activities that weren’t always related to the university, believing that this is a good way to better understand my profession. I have been engaged in several studio workshops organized by students, photography workshops and work camps. I have been part of two regional restoration camps that were held in Gjirokastra (a UNESCO world heritage site in the south of Albania) and I have been inspired by the fulfilling work of restoring a monument. In cooperation with other fellow students I founded the Forum of Young Architects, an interactive space where students from every architecture school in Albania could exchange opinions, information and experiences. The project lasted less then a year but it managed to have an official website and we organized some events as photo exhibitions and student actions.
