Isil Ruhi-Sipahioğlu

Isil Ruhi-Sipahioğlu was born on 15th October 1982 in Ankara, Turkey. She received her Bachelor degree in Architecture from Gazi University, Ankara in 2005, and Master of Architecture degree with the thesis entitled “A Survey of Form Creation Processes within the Evolution of the Organic Tradition in Architecture” from Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara in 2008. Her Master thesis focused on organic approaches to architectural design processes especially in the computational design processes. During her Master Studies, she worked as an architect in various architectural design offices in Ankara. She started her PhD research at the beginning of 2010 in Politecnico di Milano (Italy) at the Department of Building Environment Science and Technology. She has recently completed her PhD thesis entitled “The Implications of Building Environmental Assessment Tools within the Building Practice in Turkey” in March 2013. Currently she is working as a research assistant in the Department of Architecture at TOBB University of Economics and Technology, Ankara (since July 2011). Her research interest includes sustainability in architecture, computational design, and organic approach in architectural design processes.
