UrbanIxD Summer School

Antonella Sassu

I am a User Experience Designer and Design Researcher in CASALA – Centre for Affective Solutions for Ambient Living Awareness. I am also a part time Graphic Design Student. My background is in Social Science, Communication and Multimedia (BA and MA – University of Sassari, Italy) and Interaction Design (Taught Master – University of Sassari and Domus Academy, Italy). I have a strong passion for tangible interactions, the urban society, public transports and wayfinding. I like to merge sociology, art, HCI and design in the same process. The method I apply while working is UCD. I love designing for the better and to help people in everyday activities.

My work in CASALA is about Ambient Assisted Living for old people, health self monitoring, falls prevention, energy monitoring. I also have experience in Human-Robot Interaction and Social Search. I had the opportunity to work twice in the public transports user experience field with Attoma Design, a Paris-based service design agency focused on transports and wayfinding.

After that, I really like sketching stupid (and not that stupid) stuff and being ironic about myself!
