UrbanIxD Summer School

Andreas Streinzer

My journey with anthropology began in 2003, when I started studying social and cultural anthropology in Vienna. In 2004, I started working for international NGOs in designing internal and external communications as well as tapping into social service design. From 2007 to 2011 my research interests met with my practical work in a participant observation study in a NGO-business partnership project in Austria and Ethiopia.

My research interests lie in design anthropology, material culture and organizational anthropology. In 2012, I left my then employer CARE International and joined the Institute of Sociology of the University of Vienna in a research project. In early 2013 I founded COOPERATE, a small studio providing applied research.
